 Confessions of a Black Poet
by Alynetta Beck

At times  i feel as if  i live  in two different world  one Black  one "other"  because while  the happiness  that comes  from living,  breathing,  teaching,  believing in,  helping,  serving,  loving  my people  is overshadowed  by the other world  the world at large  with its  glass ceilings,  strange stares,  misunderstandings,  prejudice,  racism,  hate  still i write  but  i am both  blessed and cursed  for even when  i am at  the tip of love  or the point  of pain  words still flow From the book, "Confessions of a Black Poet." © Copyright 2003.
